My friend Mike Kavanaugh just returned from a mission trip he took with The Harbor a ministry of Cadence International they went to Thailand. They were serving in a Jai House, Orphanage (southeast of down town Chiang Mai?). They were working with 45-55 kids teaching an English Bible camp. Many of the kids as you know are abandoned. Many had their parents die from AIDS. Many of the kids come from women who were drugs addicts or "women of the night". The children eat rice, some grissly
meat and a mixture of lower quality vegetables and fruit, as well as
drinking water for most meals. Rarely any soda. Maybe some desert once or
twice a week.

For all the people that went it was a "life altering" experience as they were given the opportunity to show the love of Christ to those who are born into less fortunate circumstances than most. Pray for Mike as he continues to seek the Lord and His will for his life and pray for the children in the orphanage in Thailand. I am reminded of what James tells us in 1:27, Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, [and] to keep himself unspotted from the world. In the midst of our daily lives and service unto the Lord let us not forget what is pure and undefiled before God, let's keep that perspective, God bless you guys.
